Darren Barrenger, community activist and former parliamentary candidate

Darren was asked to speak at the inaugural meeting of the Brightlingsea Town Plan. The event was organised by Brightlingsea Town Councillor Mrs Vivien Chapman and was attended by the Rural Community Council for Essex and was well attended by around 150 members of the public.

Darren spoke of his experience with the Community Reach Partnership and described the community health check that his organisation had carried out 10 years previously as part of the Market Town Initiative. This information was subsequently used to attract over £500,000 of funding to support various community projects and initiatives, details of which can be found on the CRP website - www.communityreach.org.uk
