Community Reach Partnership

Community Reach Partnership LogoThe Community Reach Partnership was formed to deliver the Market Town Initiative into Brightlingsea, Alresford, Thorrington, St Osyth and Frating. The Partnership secured a sum of £250,000 from the East of England Development Agency and Countryside Agency to enhance community facilities within the partnership area. A Community Healthcheck was completed in 2001/2002 which highlighted the need for improvements in 4 key areas :

  •   Services for Young People
  •   Services for Older People
  •   Transport
  •   Community Development

As Chair of the Partnership, I was responsible for ensuring that the full allocation of funding was spent with our communities. Visit the Community Reach website www.communityreach.org.uk for more details of the projects which were completed.

In April 2009 I wrote and co-presented a series of proposed improvements to the Western Promenade in Brightlingsea. These were developed to work in partnership with Tendring's regeneration company - InTend. These are enhancements to what everyone already considers as the jewel in our crown. Details of the proposals are included within the attached document, which is an extract of the presentation.
