A personal message from Darren Barrenger......
"Many thanks to the many people who have supported my campaign and my attempt to become the MP for the new seat of Harwich & North Essex.
I am very pleased with the campaign that we fought, especially the way we went about it - no negative personal campaigning, emphasis on my track record and an attempt to contact and speak to people in as many communities as possible within the constituency.
After spending large parts of the last three years campaigning, I am looking forward to being able to refocus on my community activities. Depite my disappointment I intend to continue working hard in this part of the country which I love dearly.

This evening Darren and his team of Harwich activists took to the streets to meet voters in Dovercourt. Amongst the many doorstep issues Darren gave his views were Social Care, Immigration and the Health Service....

Darren spent the morning with Year 10 Students from Ramsey College, as part of their political awareness day. Darren's session was entitled "Why would anyone want to be a politician?" Drawing on his experience of over two decades of political and community activism, Darren described what motivated him to get involved in politics and why he joined the Labour Party in 1986 and has remained a member ever since. Darren encouraged everyone to believe changing things in the world around us really is possible and that as young people they have the ideas and energy to do anything....
